Du mécanique à l’organique, de la vitesse au souffle, Élodie Lachaud explore le mouvement comme un champ vivant de perception.
Diplômée des Beaux-Arts de Paris et de la Chelsea Art School de Londres, elle développe une pratique transversale entre photographie, performance et cinéma. Pour elle, art et vie sont indissociables. Sa recherche s’ancre dans le quotidien, les rencontres et le mouvement même de l’existence. De la mobilité urbaine à la circulation du souffle, son œuvre déplace les frontières entre visible et invisible, intime et collectif, en tissant un lien singulier avec la mémoire et le vivant.
Depuis Chromobiles / Taxis NY, série emblématique où elle photographie les intérieurs de taxis new-yorkais pour révéler des fragments d’humanité, de voyage et de temps, son regard s’est tourné vers le paysage et les formes de vie qui le traversent. Dans une approche sensible, photographie et performance se fondent en un même souffle : le corps devient capteur, surface d’échange, ancrage et résistance.
Ses résidences internationales, notamment à Taïwan et en Guinée équatoriale, prolongent ces explorations autour de la transmission, de la résilience et des récits féminins liés au vivant. Ses films inscrivent le geste performatif dans le temps de l’image, à la frontière du réel et de la fiction.
En 2025, elle publie Jusqu’ici blonde aux Éditions Performatives, récit artistique et autobiographique de dix années de recherche.

From the mechanical to the organic, from speed to breath, Élodie Lachaud’s work explores movement as a living field of perception.
A graduate of the Beaux-Arts de Paris and Chelsea Art School in London, she works across photography, performance, and film. For her, art and life are inseparable. Her practice grows from everyday gestures, encounters, and the constant motion of existence. From urban mobility to the circulation of breath, she shifts the boundaries between visible and invisible, intimate and collective, weaving a unique connection to memory and the living world.
Since Chromobiles / Taxis NY—a key series capturing the interiors of New York taxis as fragments of humanity, travel, and time—her gaze has turned toward landscapes and the forms of life that move through them. In her work, photography and performance merge in a single breath: the body becomes a sensor, a surface of exchange, a place of grounding and resistance.
Her international residencies, notably in Taiwan and Equatorial Guinea, extend these explorations around transmission, resilience, and feminine narratives rooted in the living. Her films situate the performative gesture within the duration of the image, between reality and fiction.
In 2025, she will publish So Far Blonde (Éditions Performatives), an artistic and autobiographical narrative spanning ten years of research.
